Somehow this pre-owned machine gets used every time I need heavy lifting. It’s an 8-year-old Broadwell dual core, Core-i5 with 8gb RAM. Picked it up from a junky looking shop for $240. The display is IPS, and it has all the bells and whistles of a premium laptop including backlit keys and hot swap battery. But it was in desperate need of a brush and wipe down after months of hard use in my dusty room which faces a trunk road.
The brush tool came cheap from Mr DIY. And I also clean my guitar fretboards with it. For gentle screen / overall wiping, I use a soft microfiber sponge-filled bunny duster. Can’t believe how dirty keyboards and trackpad button crevices can get. Some dust mites crawled out of it afterwards. At least there are no more ants. In the afternoon, I’ll sweep and mop my room, dust under the guitar bags too.
I plugged the laptop into its charger while it waits for my programming inspirations. Put aside the Logi Wave Keys and Pi4 which I used to write the first 3/4 of Drafter. More later…
Did a bit of much-needed housework which freed up the folks to cook and touch up our new place. There's nothing stopping me sitting at my desk right now, but my emotions are a little unsettled and I can't focus on my computer work well. Enjoying using my OPM (recycled ocean plastic mouse). Do I like fondling refuse normally? This could be a get-rich idea, really!
I’ve split my computers into 3 stations. My desk (ThinkPad), the back room (Kabini), and by my bed (iPad). I will be transferring Aspire to the new house and maybe the Pi4 later on, attached to the TV. The mindspaces are incredibly troubled at the moment because of wanton prideful cheating and we have to navigate carefully.
