Our piano was tuned, I gave piano tutoring in mindspace, guitar 101 as well, coding CHR goes on…

This morning we were at the new place, our shoebox house, where our usual piano guy tuned the instrument after its big move over from the bungalow. I gave out some basic theory of the keyboard using my M-Audio connected to my iPad 10.

Basically, there are 1st, 3rds, and 5ths of a C scale. These form the bulk of harmonies. 2, 4, 6, and 7ths lead to complex harmonies, particularly 2, and 6th. The 1st leads to Ab while the 2nd leads to F#, C#,  and the 4th to Bb. 6th leads to Eb. The armpits of the keyboard, 7-1, and 3-4, are where twisty melodies are born. The 6th is where sad songs live. And fingering is all to do with the islands of keys formed in between the armpit divides, just like it does trivially on a 6 hole DiZi flute.

Guitar is simple as well. It’s all about flowing accurately pitchwise with compound, rich chords, or flowing common chords into an uncommon cadence / progression, remembering to carry the melody based on simple 1-3-5ths. If it can be played on a Marine Band harmonica, it’s a good melody. This is an instrument that’s born to be simple to play songs you know well, and hard to play songs you don’t, so play lots of songs from both sides and you will mature.

Took my meds, no sedative. Will probably doze off in 2 hours. Meanwhile CHR needs a minor recode to better pick related paragraphs for the auxiliary column. Emma Watson and the Harry Potter cast is being attacked by the witchy evil Liews. Taking some hits. More tomorrow…

Shuffling my morning routine to be less stressful. Running will be pushed to the afternoon, and bathroom time, more flexible. Work should be broken down into small steps. Exercise a bit later after waking up. Today, I hope to finish coding CHR. Just needs a few more lines and I’ve been procrastinating.
