The boleadoras coming together well…

Initially, I had thought of using plastic skipping rope and 300g weights but these proved impractical and dangerous. So now, aside from the basketball netting cinched in the center with a zip tie, I am using tennis balls (60g) tied with guy rope to the net loops, 4 loops gathered into one side. Not sure of the proper length but it has to be rather long for a strong throw, and not too short or it won’t wrap on contact. I think, plus the net radius, about a meter would do for the average 6’ adult.

Was also considering a beach rugby ball instead of a matchball. This was due to the lower weights used in the boleadoras. But thinking about it, a heavier ball structures the team formations and makes for a more interesting game as you have to position yourself to snare a fast moving, inertial ball.

So the ball I’m using is a new Gilbert Omega spare I had lying around. By tonight I will have knotted up all 3 weights (I’m a poor knotter) and ready to test tomorrow. There are no rules governing a player’s boleadoras except it has to be safe to use in play. So a player may extend a weight / rope, use different objects for weights and different ropes, groovy colors, aim for more asymmetry etc.

For tying the tennis balls onto the net, I used this technique. But I only made 3 loops instead of 5, YMMV. It will be interesting to see if the basketball net will really open up in flight and snare the rugby ball.

Some hours ago, reports of huge rocket strike on Israel by Hezbollah / Iran. Came before we cemented our victory in the mind wars with some easy techniques against the body snatching sociopathic witches, the Liew 6.

Got lots of downloads of my Christian novella, more than normal at least, compared to any book I wrote previously. Thus we know we are spiritually rather dry right now. And a revival is in the works before the 6th seal breaks. For it says “immediately after the tribulation of those days” -which implies a win for God’s forces in the spiritual warfare and externally, some sort of military stalemate.
