Spending time with my Seiko 077j...

For the past week, I've been wearing my Seiko diver exclusively, as a beater round the home, as casual wear on the streets, I dropped it so hard it even bounced. [for the squeamish -yes it is still a-okay].

This morning I set it and after 4 hours, it gained a tiny fraction of a second -virtually no time. Routinely, it goes off by -2 to +4s per day if you don't swing it around too much.

In a previous post, I compared it to my Seiko 5 Sports and the results are very distinguishable which has the better movement. The Prospex wins, being over 2x better even after the scary drop that would have nixed a lesser / more delicate watch.

The tale of how I came to wear an $800 watch (usually my limit is $200), is because my stuff came under attack and I wasn't smart. Telekinetics destroyed my SKX007 which, being frugal, I replaced with a solar quartz model. But the same damage began to creep in -stripped crown. I sold it before it got bad and bought the 077j for circa 3.6kRM. So far it's hanging in there but I sure spent more than I bargained for.

That said, luxury and pampering can't help but make a guy smile.

I put the watch to work just like every Seiko diver was meant to be used for -as a robust do-anything time-telling tool. This wasn't an heirloom King Seiko, or a limited edition JDM 'Spirit'. In the months ahead, we will go through ups and downs together.

Currently wear it on a dull olive NATO with a light yellow stripe and it looks dashing. Now all I have to do is justify owning this thing that came my way by dumb chance.

Will continue this later, add some pics etc...

Was thinking of wearing an $800 watch around the poor neighborhood we live in. Some among these houses have only 1 car and it's 20 years old. And others are finding it hard to make a living. Decided to wear my Edifice on that olive NATO. A sub $100 quartz watch. BTW, I'm not buying any more watches unless I hit pay dirt soon. Rumors of my novella finding a publisher. And perhaps my Apple Pencil 'Pen Pal' accessory will take off. Maybe 'Tell' will also gain me fame and fortune. We'll have to see.

Watched more Jonathan Cahn on YouTube. See DogBlots for my reply to his intelligent sermon. We have found some confirmation that the last Pope is a Jesuit Pope. Nostradamus wrote on it, expanding on Malachy. Francis is very ill so the Rapture must be close.

I’ve put on the Seiko 077j again. It tends to drift by a couple of seconds a day which is acceptable. No sense hiding my tool watch even one not close to economy. It might buy me a night’s stay somewhere when I need it.
