Christmas is only 3 weeks away. I bought a grill pan oven, electric, to bake round, puffy flat sourdough bread in. I roughly estimate it’ll take about 10-13 minutes to bake thru as it’s not too thick. And with the commercial activity going on around here at the shoebox, I can sell a few of these a day for a small profit. Sourdough is premium in Malaysia right now and most bakers do not do it well. Their sour is slight, and does not distribute evenly. The crumb is also dry-ish.
I attended MIB and have a certificate in baking. They are a good school to go to. Friendly and charitable. And not stingy with advice. I almost found a girlfriend there as well. Fond memories. RIP Don Yong, master baker and all round good chap. We shall meet in the Kingdom of God.
I hope my oven works well as it was on sale, $11 including shipping. Shall have to scrutinize it carefully when it arrives this weekend.
I had a vision of me and the Folks breaking and dipping bread, drinking sips of wine. And of late, Mom has been attending church activities. Surely the resurrection is near.
And tomorrow, I get my flip sides harmonica. Seemingly something nobody plays like that (anymore) or seems to, from the lack of videos. I like the box tho, in faux red gator.
...
Seems the night draws on past 12am. Was checking on the World Cup 2026 kickoff times and they will be like all thru the night here in Malaysia. Can't sleep anymore come June-July so it seems.
