Dart, a new horizon…

Learning Dart seems less of a challenge than I thought. Should be able to convert my Python code easily, then make the game interface. Now running VS code on my 12gb Windows 11 Celeron rig. Lots of RAM but little power.

A new day and new prospects. Am staring at my monitor, waiting for inspiration. Haven't eaten breakfast yet. Rain made the morning air cooler. Think I may hit the shower now. Will begin coding at 9:30am. Maybe use Copilot a bit.

Prepping to go out on a walk with Mom as the Bible study group didn't form up as expected. Not sure why. Hope it's not intrigue from antichrists. Wearing my Oakleys as they are shiny and make my face look cool.

Made some progress on the .tell file I'm making as it will contain the adventure while the .dart file contains the code to access and respond to access of the .tell file. Haven't really learnt Dart very well yet and will be doing a cut and paste job to begin with. Have an hour till I head out on my walk. Maybe delay it until 4pm when the UV index drops to moderate.

Having 12gb RAM really helps my computing flow despite my CPU being a humble 1.1gHz Celeron. A real boon for development / coding. Changed my MudMan's strap to an elastic NATO in olive drab. Looks nicer than the Bond NATO.

I followed instructions online to turn on my Celeron netbook's turbo boost functionality. It's now averaging twice as fast as before. Really good stuff. Great for development work.

Cooling down after my long walk, in air conditioning set to economy mode. Don't feel much like working on TBD. Maybe later in the mid afternoon. I will get the Dart code settled, then build the .tell file. Or maybe reverse that.

Tell file is being filled up with the story / adventure plot. Taking a while to decide how to implement it so it's logical and complete.

Rendering a dream watch...

 

Instead of helping with the witchcraft fight, I commanded sporadically and drew this quick and dirty render of a possible grail watch in Canvas 7. It's supposed to be a simple and cheap Miyota quartz which drives a module that is set annually via two pin buttons on the case side. Additionally, it has the moon's phase. Strangely, it lacks any branding which I forgot to add in. Say maybe "Cadaver of Geneva" or something similar.

I wonder if anyone has knowhow on how to drive an annual calendar mechanism off a quartz analog movement, and if it would be expensive? More later...

We did, however manage to lay a trap for the witches and are using a carrot to lure them, maybe a stick to whip them towards gaining the world at their feet which is what they suffer for. Nothing underhand, I think but the best will be the winner soon. May we be the best, who are faithful to the Lord.

I finished designing the alarm mechanism for an automatic watch. It uses a roving gear which picks up studs pressed in and triggers the alarm which is in / wound by an outer gear. Thus one may set up to 12 alarms a day.

The witch attacked our church again, relentlessly picking on / destroying Pastor while feeding him lies about his sheep. They are also onto me, affecting my butt and trying to give me sores. Through it all, we must persevere in Christ.

Laying down the law...

Less Liew witchy activity after last night's tell all and scare all. The evil is still vengeful and even some Christians are pushing their fight onto other Christians still. Such are the heavy back-breaking burdens of these end times. Perhaps later we will talk about proper behavior in the face of crisis.

Have yet to start coding TBD (once a novel in the making now a game).

Website redesign...

Worked late into the night and more this morning to get all my written works formatted properly as PDFs to embed in an iFrame following a major site redesign. In case you're curious, it is at https://freeLunch.my -go have a look as it is very different and more efficient to browse my stories.

I am intensifying my efforts to diet and work out more seeing as how my blood test is moved up to November. Hopefully I am healthy.

Interestingly enough, proving the Bible came just before 6-6-6 (Friday June 6th). The Lord is not stingy with signs. It was a day when some tears flowed, and hearts were moved among the westerners. They must have needed it a long time and prayed for it to be revealed and this sign to save them conclusively. I'm sure all who were listening were among the saved. We cannot be lukewarm forever.

Was fiddling with my Mudman solar and discovered a way to determine the full moon. There is a look ahead moonphase in this module which is so cool. The moon will roughly be full on the 10th of June to 11th.

I made an ABY lookup for day and hour on my website. Seems to be working sanely albeit on Jerusalem time. So if you're west of Jrs, just go that many sutras backwards. In Malaysia, do a +5 instead.

Decided to make a dungeon game using TeLL as the back end. Without Matplotlib. Will try to sell this software. May take the whole month to complete and to illustrate. It will be based on TBD which will provide the world, characters, and plot. I will hand draw the scenes and the magic items. There may be circa 80 illustrations to make.

Just did a brief half workout to stay limber. Many Liew forces in disarray and western forces are on high alert. Not sure what to do except massacre the evil witches. But that may be wrong. Earlier, we had calrose rice for dinner. Mom enjoyed the softer grains.

Mobified my website. Was easy, using a JavaScript snippet I found online. Looks good on Android with the navigation stacked on top of the iFrame div. 

I may soon be published…

I am so excited to be published after so long in the wilderness of free eBooks. Not sure what’s the cost and my share of royalties. But I’m willing to take the risk if it’s not too expensive, split over 10 months. They will send me a contract to decide and will only ask for money one time. Quite sure I might bite this one.

Meanwhile, the bugs in SeTT are being ironed out at long last. No word on my game, Fragment. LiLian seems to be interfering with my ventures, supported by family.

But unknowns aside, I am happy that SeTT is far more playable now. Past midnight and am feeling a little drowsy. May turn in at 1am after more debugging.

Need to record a test case game so I can replay it to test the move passing code. Can’t believe after all this time, SeTT is ready for the bigger leagues as a teaser time waster.

SeTT was conceived in late 2023 which makes it over 1 1/2 years from concept to online game (just a simple one like Tetris / Minesweeper / Solitaire). But I like my game a lot -I think it's better than other time wasters partly because one has to face off with another player or the AI. The AI is flat / extremely basic and maybe could use some more work.

No inspiration to write more of The Blood Dagger and no sign of the contract from my publisher yet.

The total fees for hybrid publishing my novella are over 10kRM. Obviously I have to pass. 2k would have been better. The other publisher said my novella doesn’t fit their portfolio. Instead of giving up, I’m revamping my website to better showcase all my works.

Past 2am, finished redesigning my website. It’s a lot leaner and easy to browse. Tomorrow I need to make a sitemap for it. Feeling drowsy. Took my meds, brushed, and worked out as usual around midnight. Tried to save my family but wasn’t powerful enough.

A rainy morning…

The air is cool thru my windows, and it is almost 9am. Trying to decide when to reveal important ‘secrets’ or twists in The Blood Dagger so the novel actually reaches 40k words. Some advice from YouTube, tell more about the characters’ thoughts and feelings. Maybe I should.

Taking Mom shoe shopping later but she’s still sleeping. William is also acting up. He will be thankful we slayed the Liew witches soon IMHO.

My used 2016 i5 ThinkPad with 8gb RAM is working really smooth with Debian 12 / KDE. Even in power saving mode. Think it’s twice as fast as Windows 10. Plus the security updates will be delivered for the long term. Mainly, I needed some flexibility to work off my desk so I moved from my desktop setup. Being pressured in the mind, I need a change of posture sometimes.

Mom bought her shoes but truthfully, her walking days are numbered as her right foot is becoming numb. And she's only 76. A shame. Was thinking of getting her a 300RM shoe but after her fall a few weeks back, she can't walk that enjoyably anymore.

 

Worked on TBD. Now past 3k words. And the Liew remnants are attacking thru young western children and babies again, defaming writers, perhaps because I write and am a sensitive.

First of June…

A new month dawns. Actually just past midnight where I am. Made a point to wear my MudMan solar most of the time. I have it on black Velcro which is comfortable and looks decent. I always loved the MudMan series / variants. There are a few new ones that look craggy and different, and cost a lot more too. Mine was circa 570RM from Gsupply, which was a bargain.

Organized the chaos in the mindspaces so it’s less bad. Trouble is the witchy Liews keep raising children to prevent God’s plan. No immature minds in the mindspaces, please. Stay home and learn your way, kids and babies.

The overwhelming evil and people who failed, went mad, and lashed everywhere, surmounted our organized groups. Seems the violence will not stop. Trying to think of ways to protect the faithful but the attackers are too numerous and skilled. Perhaps something from God will happen.

Well past midnight. Did some minor editing.The dialogue was mostly okay. There are now many subplots I can choose, the dagger’s prophecy, the coin, the moon, Imogen, or the escape, to name some. A good story writes itself.

Liew forces backing down from harming Christians. Americans appeared to chaperone them somewhere else. I’m not sure whose side who is on. But there must be less violence in the mindspaces overall, which is my duty.
