Dad’s Bell-Matic is somewhat beat up and I prefer to use Mom’s Tissot PRS she gave me as my heirloom piece. But this afternoon, from the shoebox typing this, I’m wearing my compact tough solar Casio. This little watch is a joy. I don’t have to baby it at all.
Nevertheless I have my sights set on one final watch. Something crazy to admire. This will be around CNY, when my funds reach around 3kRM. I can easily save 2kRM and just hope for additional income to make up the 1kRM left.
Some stock market trouble brewing, started showing up in South Korea. Not sure what’s going on.
A new strap for the Bell-Matic revives my hopes for it:
The vertical lined strap gives the watch symmetry and augments its angularity. There is contrast play between the red and dull green. Woven texture draws the eyes from scuff marks and on the whole raises it more prominently on the wrist.
[My final watch may be a Gravity Master carbon, circa 2.6kRM]
Got to thinking about watches. I don’t think that I need any more than what I have now. They’re starting to make me depressed! I reached for my Carbon Core 2200,
This craggy, nondescript G-Shock in dirty gray molding on elastic NATO, is my favorite stealth watch. It turns people off who are interested in watches! Nevertheless, I will pop over to SunriseTimeCentre next year before CNY, to see what they have stock of.
Watches should be unique or special / meaningful / practical. That is when you have several to rotate between. I’ve settled on my Swatch Sistem51 as my ‘heirloom’ piece for now. Not that it’s very valuable, but that it’s unique, has a special automatic movement and case material (bioplastic). It has 90 hours power reserve which you can see thru the transparent mainspring barrel, showerproof WR, and is hand winding capable. Bioplastic is much stronger than normal Casio plastic and the all black look is very elegant.
