Bought a bunch of stuff and saved money as well…

I got Sis’ birthday present and a pencil as a present for myself while at the mall today. Spent 32RM. Saved over 40RM by fixing my Kepma acoustic guitar myself using an old string. It was hair raising at first, as the string seemed to slip under the loose bridge pin while being tensioned. This is the thinnest string on an acoustic guitar. About the thickness of 2 pieces of paper. You can imagine I was nervous, winding it taut.

My ideas for a compact quiver and Apple Pencil support are on hold. It’s past 9pm and I have yet to take my meds and shower. Need to get cleaned again as usually happens nowadays. Made spinach meatball soup for dinner. Was tasty and not too salty. I used pink rock salt, garlic, olive oil, and Italian herbs.

The pencil I got myself is a minimalist and cheap Japanese-made Shalaku. We were talking about pens and pencils and I made the observation that pencils should veer towards cheap and cheerful while pens should aspire to luxury if only in looks. This is due to their functional roles as stationeries. I proudly use a Parker jotter (half plastic) which lays down an expressive line, fine or medium. I own 2 refills, black and blue, in different thickness, for different purposes. It’s my main songwriting pen.

I may part with my Shalaku in June, if Sis likes it. But for now it’s my go to pencil. Just wrote another song. Seems like one a day lately. Need to scavenge an ethernet cable tomorrow so I can install X on Solaris. Running Sun OS 5 is cool tho my main machine has Windows 11.
