Prices are only going up. The rate of shop closures is pretty high in the malls I frequent. I myself am priced out of many nice things I could once have afforded. Trying to make a living from my programming and storytelling combined to create adventure games in text mode.
Tonight am working on TBD's .tell file. I may not be able to use Dart right away so will still use Python3 while I work out the story flow and the puzzles, then code the engine in Dart which I'm being prevented from learning.

Wearing my low-end Casio Edifice. Was talking watches with some friends in the mindspace. How and what watches will sell in this economy, here in Malaysia. So, I put on my thinking cap.
The best watches are rectangular, and have an integrated nylon strap so it appears as a flush bangle. The price should be circa 40RM and the watches resistant to 5bar. These should be called something like 'Kapok' or 'Good Morning' and come in various colors. They should take a CR2025 battery and be analog.

Came up with a design that involves a spiral gear suspended between 2 leaf (V-shaped) springs. A slider controls the tension in each spring, driving the spiral gear which drives the hands. As for the calendar, it is simply a printout of month / day which is manually advanced every day on a popup reminder. A very cheap and easy to maintain watch for the masses.
