There is some confusion about the following statements:
1. Salvation is God's free gift
2. We are judged according to works / deeds
3. We must fit in the Lamb's book to be saved
Furthermore, there is prophecy, something which guides and guards us, being given, as a species, free-will.
Therefore, with FREE-WILL, and FREE SALVATION, and a CHRIST IMAGE to adhere to, thus are those known to the Lord, saved.
We also have to consider that He (God) knew us from the foundation of the world and in Jesus prepared a place for us. We also consider His claim, not to have lost any of us he foreknew.
This is illogical unless you believe that we Christians (because I am Christian not Moslem or Buddhist) fit a certain type or types of people. Thus are represented in the Lamb's book of life.
Next thing is the eternal question:
Is it who you are that fits or what you've done that fits with the Lamb's book?
The answer is you cannot be who you are without doing what you like to do and to learn from it. You cannot stray far who adhere to Truth, Light, Salt, and deny Satan and his lies. Achieving every milestone in life ensures you fit the type(s) of Christian in the book of Life.
Furthermore, what innocuous things may you do that are actually sinful / destructive?
The answer is that free will allows you to be (like me) say, a watch buff. Someone (like me) who has an orgasm once in a while. Free will doesn't allow you to break laws and other illegal things. Free will can be what you do in privacy, tho not in absolute secrecy.
- So to sum up, we can do many good deeds so why don't we?
- We can learn from mistakes and by reading scripture so why don't we?
- We are given FREE salvation because we must not judge or fight for it.
- We must not fight over salvation because we believe in PROPHECY.
- Ultimately, prophecy puts fear of God into us and hope eternal.
- Whether or not we become a Christ image doesn't matter -just live your life well.
And it came up, that we love the pleasures of the flesh. What's up with flesh over spirit? The truth is that nothing matters more than spirit -true. But we still have to eat bread. And eating good bread is a worship opportunity. Loving your wife is loving yourself, thus loving your neighbor (paraphrase of various verses). So is sexual love a sin? Every sexual act is a worship opportunity as well. Good loving is good loving.
What about watches, cars, real estate, iPhones etc. Do Christians subscribe to these things -luxuries? IMHO (and I don't really know), there have to be some luxuries in life. We live for pampering, holidays, celebrations which are all worship opportunities and outreach opportunities. So to have say a record player or a nice watch to wear isn't strictly bourgeois. In fact it may keep you happy in desperate times and be worth something if sold. No hard and fast rules of consumerism -what sells, what's bought.
