I have a couple of Microsoft peripherals and 2 PC laptops with Windows but I needed to pay MS back for using their free office software and some of their professional fonts in my work, Mss2.pdf which you can get from FreeLunch.my FREE for a limited time. It was always my philosophy to take first, and return later. That's how money is made. Thus I bought their Ocean Plastic Mouse this afternoon halfway along my weekly trek around the city and by rail.
I had always admired the OPM because I love nature conservation and like funky plastics. Took some photos of the mouse while I recharged with a basic lunch at a mamak cafe where I met a cute girl with a thick body. I love those shapes, plus she was courteous. Also nobody hounded me at All-IT which is indicative of several things, possibly. And is it just me, or is the police presence around PJ increasing lately?
Hard to peel open this tiny package
Surprise -a beautiful presentation box
Ahh... the smell of the sea
At 129RM, this is not a cheap mouse. But it is Bluetooth wireless, which you can expect to pay 80RM for at the very least. Came with a Duracell battery inside -a nice touch of class. The main draw is the shell which is slightly translucent and pearl-glow, like raw French sea salt. Compared to my Logi M590 which has discolored a bit, the OPM can only get better with age, being already dotted with specks of impurities.
Tracking is good with MS's BlueTrack LED technology, and its size isn't too bulky to fit in a laptop bag. The click action is definitive and scrolling, virtually silent. Shape-wise, not visibly ergonomic other than that either the heel of your thumb or your index finger can rest comfortably, depending on your hands being smaller or bigger.
Like my Orient TriStar, the OPM is probably going to be with me a long time, as is often the case with things designed with love and conscientiousness. It fits in well with my clicky NOS MS Multimedia Keyboard hooked up to a power-saving Raspberry Pi 4 in passive-cooling heatsink armor. Due to the mess on my huge desk, my monitor is in portrait view and leaning up against the wall on a dashboard mat, at half HD resolution. And just like that funky dirt speckled plastic, I feel at home among my many ongoing efforts and interests strewn dis-spiritedly of late, about this small bedroom-office. OPM you have been assimilated!
