Awal Ramadan approaches…

…So to my many Moslem friends here in Malaysia, selamat berpuasa. And let bygones be bygones. Nobody is perfect, myself, and especially the witchy Liews who unfortunately are my neighbors. Looking forward to sleeping over at our new house. An adventure. If only I were well again, and not a basket case.

Cooked a good dinner for the folks and am chilling in my room before coding. It’s easier when every task is defined specifically. Tomorrow, I will be heading out to KL unless anything unexpected crops up. 2 weeks till my monthly Arip jab at the psych clinic. MYR has risen, now below $4.7 due to America’s looming economic crunch. More later…

Preparing to do some work. Wearing Mom’s gift for my 2021 birthday, a Tissot PRS516 powermatic on gray suede / deployant, almost 3kRM. Usually wear it to make Mom happy and it is my most luxurious watch. Tomorrow, I will be wearing something lower key. Dad’s 1972 Bell-Matic on gray [or maybe a vintage Bond] NATO.

Rebooted my Instagram with tasteful watch photos. 10pm and no coding got done. Need to reboot my Pinterest now. Doing fashion matching sequences / dressing.

A new day and new troubles from my sister campaigning in the mindspaces after being dissed by UK forces and shoved onto me. Decided to wear out my Protrek on Casio Velcro strap. Leaving for Kuala Lumpur in under 2 hours. Some time to code a bit. Maybe have a ramen for breakfast.

Coding went well and the treeView is almost complete. Need to work on the fuzzy matching magic so the buttons are highlighted appropriately. Will do it after I get home. Liew witchy 6 feeling down from their wasted lives. More later…

Was out to Kuala Lumpur from 11:45am till 3:30pm. Must have walked 2 1/2 hours. It wasn’t very hot but I wore a hat anyway. Bought a tray of watercolors. I have dreams of becoming an artist, making a living from sketches inked and painted over. Will resume coding after a good rest.

Dangerous games…

The negative telepathy has been ramping up since yesterday. I got hit with an ice pick by my own sister and her posse. The Liew witches lashed out at the Royals. One can only wonder why they’re on edge. Usually, they glimpsed a prophecy that they lost life and heaven while we gained both by being good and brave. Petty jealousy and hypocrisy.

Drafter is coming along well. I made the button and row subclasses for the treeView but fell asleep last night before I could finish. A little bit of OOP. Found out that URWBookman is a more legible and elegant font and have switched to that from Monospace. Wonder if the app will wrap up today? And will the evil witches grind it to the dust? More later…

We got the upper hand over the witchy Asian 6 and their made-vengeful underlings, using the innate weaknesses of the human body all humans have. So perhaps they will take their business out of mindspace once and for all.

Wearing my marbled gray GA2200 on matching stretchy NATO. I have 6 affordable / cheap Casios:

  1. ga2200 (Front)
  2. gbd200 (L)
  3. 800h
  4. mudman solar
  5. protrek (solar)
  6. mq27 (R)
And I love and wear them all. Came to like humble plastic (quartz) watches over steel / leather. Total cost with aftermarket straps is under $500. Not planning to add more. More later…

Finalizing the last bit of code in Drafter:
  1. Every frame row reads currFile from ;; to ;; hidden blank tags
  2. Then every tag type, say ;;r is grouped into its own button
  3. Content from the edit window is analyzed on <space> and buttons expanded accordingly
  4. The analysis depends on tag type and tag content
  5. Content is added to a frame row or new row by clicking its ;; button
  6. Right click on a frame row deprecates it for possible deletion
That wasn’t very hard! Clear thinking was needed. Will be wearing my Casio tank out to the bank with Mom and Dad.

To Lowyat…

Planning a trip to Malaysia's biggest computer mall tomorrow. Have to work hard on my app today so I can enjoy my outing. Already I have the UI laid out and the functions operating well. There shouldn’t be any nasty surprises. Broke away to make dinner for the folks who were tired from new house furniture shopping. Have to put in an hour of solid coding after a short rest. Not sure what I’ll buy at Lowyat, having just $100 to spend.

Feeling happy wearing my all black Swatch automatic. Those Swiss designers know their stuff. Looks classic and has soul. Apparently, 4 things are scheduled to happen for me:
  1. Some of my short stories will be well received / go viral, idk
  2. I will get the chance to shop at a lower end luxury watch boutique
  3. I will have a girlfriend who is a bit prosperous
  4. My activism for telepathic freedom will finally be recognized
Of course, these are just predictions. Nice to have hope in one’s heart. More later…

Got up before 3 this morning. Must have slept 5 solid hours after taking half a Rivotril. I used to take a full tablet occasionally. Feeling fuzzy and loved as the pre dawn air seems to tingle with Spirit this 3am. Feel like running despite planning that long walk. Coding is going slow but steady.

Am able to sit at my desk again so I’ve moved Drafter over to the Raspberry Pi 4 to finish coding without the constraints of a laptop battery. Not sure if I really want to go to Lowyat but I did all my chores, cleaned my room and put in some good work. I actually have nothing much to buy but I need the exercise. Maybe 2pm.

It’s very hot now so I will wait for evening before venturing out. Not sure where to begin coding. There is actually a lot to do -the many details that make an app great. It took almost 2 years for NiP to mature into Drafter as a writer’s tool, after I invented RBSEJ markup.

Still wearing my Swatch. Think it will be my daily driver from now on. Will walk to Kayu and back after dinner.

Fiction: The Ring and the Pearls

They said that God was fighting a losing battle. Hail and blood along with angel feathers littered the Earth. But in the Jovian Station, on the moon, Europa, there was an eerie peace.

Would he like more wine? She wondered. But her master was busy adjusting the timepieces in his large and varied collection.

He turned, draping a Tristar over her wrist, from 1975. It was the year he was born. His eyes were deep set and his full lips curled into a confident smile.

Her heart beat faster as she felt the steel against her skin. She wasn't a whore, nor in love with riches, but that it reminded her of her slaving ring. That multi-piece curved metal lock around her finger.

She had seen others, slaves as well, die from tampering with their rings. She didn't know how it worked, just that it got tighter when she felt like running away. Not that that was a possible solution out of her forced servitude, there in lonely orbit around Jupiter.

This watch showed the transit schedule of the Earth shuttle, he told her. He had had it made for that purpose. It was important, he added, for their safety. Then he took the goblet from her trembling hands and drank from it.

The slaver returned to his collection of watches. She thought of him, a perfection of masculine genetics, in his figure-hugging one-piece thermal overalls, and secretly mulled the prospect of becoming his wife. He had asked her when he met her but the wars over the Mars-Venus pearl trading route, the atrocities committed by the Arians, had turned her heart sour and hard. You have no country, no planet, he told her -still I love you. You remind me of my Moira.

But she was draped with a short slave tunic, a shoulder-less, plunging, gauzy weave. Her close cropped hair hugging her apricot-shaped head. And her eyes, gray-green like many born on Mars, her brown arms and legs, long and slender. She was only 14 when her parents died in a transporter accident and she was sold into bondage by the revolutionaries.

He waved his hand in dismissal, not bothering to admire, much less look at her. She bowed nevertheless, retiring to her quarters. And it was in her bed that she noticed that the Tristar was still on her wrist. He loves me... no he must be weak... and a fool. Maybe she could escape the lonely sterile station and return to Mars. Her opposite arm began to throb as the ring tightened ever so slightly and she pressed the thoughts of leaving him out of her mind. It was 6 days till the Earth shuttle's arrival. And she smiled to herself knowingly.

The Venusian pearl, he revealed to her, it was a wedding gift from his late wife's parents. God didn't know about this back door to Heaven. We can both be there with the other spacing families, he told her. Suspended in an electromagnetic field, in a haze of alcohol mist, the spirits it contained surrounded them. His wife's form congealed in the steamy air and they joined, in front of her.

This is a watch that times the subtle realms, he said. It is important to note the intervals as they are non-linear. Are they Gaussian? She asked. Somewhat. He gestured in the air and a holoscape, sparkling in vibrant greens and blues descended from the ceiling. In essence, everything spiritual obeys the formula,

I = DF

Imagination is proportional to desire multiplied by fairness. But what do you think of it? He asked her. I know you Martians school in emotional physics.

If I desired to either leave or marry you would that be fair?

Only if you imagined it rightfully. And that is the secret of the ring. He touched the gold pieces that fitted snugly around her finger and they began to slip looser. Her heart beat quickened as she looked into his shadowed eyes, resisting the urge to just pull the device off... but what after that?

How did your wife die? Was she a slave?

No, he replied. She was a free woman from the home world. She died... from a broken heart. The slaver turned to face the wide glass facade of the viewing room. Huge storms raged across the methane clouds of Jupiter, impacts from the cycle of asteroid invaders flung off the Oort Cloud every 22,000 years.

I'm an old man, kept young, even alive, by nanomachine colloids. A heavy, leaden-looking ring draped around his collar, a field harness that regulated the minute devices in his blood. Maybe I wanted too much to live, to enjoy my wealth -these, my timepieces from Earth, and my wife with me. But coming out here to Jupiter, to Europa, took too much out of my Moira. Perhaps I shouldn't have converted -to Space Masonry. I sensed it from before, as the light in her eyes began to fade. And I cast her lifeless body into the center of the Great White Spot. Her soul, I coerced into the station's pearl. So I might have her always.

Now go to your room, he said weakly, with a wavering tone.

In her chamber, she played with her ring. It had loosened a lot and slipped around her flesh, stopping short against her knuckle. She smiled. She put it to her ear and the low buzzing it usually emitted had stopped.

Imagination -that is the secret of the ring.

She looked at the Earth shuttle transit watch. Arrival was just 26 hours away.

Do you desire me? All things considered? He asked, if but a little?

Truthfully, I do, she replied, but my heart is tugged in so many directions.

Aren't you happy here? He asked, choking back tears.

He turned from her and clasped his hands around his face. It was like watching God cry.

The watch on her wrist indicated 6 hours to shuttle docking.

You can leave, he said, noticing her checking the watch. But you must never come back.

I love you, she blurted spontaneously, kneeling in front of him. He lifted her chin. And the ring slipped off her finger. She caught it in her other hand, eager to inspect it but the device came apart into a puzzle of small pieces. He gave her a plush, felted box wherein to deposit them. Then he told her, you have my heart.

It was gusty along the service tunnel that led to the docking bay. She hauled herself down cable that ran by the wide curved walls, afraid to miss the ride home -to Mars where she was born.

There were a few dozen passengers already strapped in along the shuttle's cabin. Giant Jupiter would whip the craft around and into orbit around the Red Planet and there was a half hour to kill before that window opened.

She closed her eyes as the sleep inducer mask flipped itself over her face. Same as it did on the trip here. Pinpricks of light danced lazily somewhere behind her visual awareness and she exhaled deeply.

What's your name? Came a voice from beside her, also exhaling.

I don't have one, she replied.

Slave, eh?

Yes, what's it to you?

There aren't many this far out.

Why not?

The war is going badly. Many are being thrown into the front lines -in droves. In a sense, it was a good thing you had your master.

She turned away from the voice, he said I mustn't return.

As separation makes the heart grow fonder.

I don't love him... Or maybe I do... I just didn't want to be forced into anything. Maybe I was being headstrong, worth less of myself than I thought.

He showed you salvation, didn't he? It slaves to the heart. On a level too deep to shake.

A lump formed in her throat, as if the ring had passed over her neck. She reached for it, making sure it wasn't actually there, then she patted the box of parts in her jersey pocket which rattled reassuringly. She felt of a sudden, like a phantom visiting its urn of cremated bones.

If you feel you're special, it's already begun.

How do you know?

I used to manage back in the day... The voice trailed off. And it was the last thing she heard before her boots touched the rusty crust of home.

The terrarium caretaker's name was Erik. She had asked him for it when they first made love. As they entered the pearl chamber, buried deep in the center of the geodesic dome, she brushed aerial root hairs, butterflies and midges from her face, and they beheld the Venusian-made energy device that powered all of Mars' colonies, concentrated alien energy, condensed into an opalescent sphere so light, it had negative mass-gravity.

Do you know what it really is?

Yes -only what you expect, because I, you see, equals... he started to quote the formula.

But her finger against his lips silenced him. It saves souls... those lost in space.

They say the Jovian station will probably be hit, Tuesday, by fragments from the asteroid they just blasted, headed the way of Earth, Erik said.

She looked at the shuttle transit watch on her wrist. They won't make it. Tears welled in her eyes as she thought of her former master. What a person is worth is as good as their bond. What bond they accept, as as good as their heart. She reasoned out that it was the same for him as for her. Players in a game of religio-emotional Copernicanism. And now the roles were reversed but the technology and their feelings, remained the same.

Erik looked on, as she opened the box with the slaving ring parts. In the field of the pearl, they hopped to life. Do you, slave agree?

Yes, she said. And once again the metal bond slipped and locked around her finger. She called to him, her master. And in the shimmering haze of ether space, a form took her hand.

Where do loose pearls go? Not trapped on a dead moon, nor drifting free amid the fragments of titanium and composites that trailed a path in the gravity of the gas giant, Soul catchers sought their true homes, guided by spirit.

Erik stared at the fragments of slaving ring, discarded where she had entered nether space. He counted 72 parts exactly, and placed each one into a clear sample box, carefully, with soft plastic tweezers.

One day, the parts began to rattle, pooling in the corners of their container like a crude compass. He followed the distressed pieces of noisy metal out into the desert of red sand, where once water flowed, carving chasms, and wind blew sand, hewing arcs and ridges from the stone walls of the canyons.

And thereabouts he eventually found it, lying radiant and iridescent on a shelf of rock -her master's pearl.

Honor, beauty, treachery, all born from overflowing lust, failings of the crotchety, magical gods who came again. He would sooner be rid of them but a wash of compassion overcame him. He was after all, Christian, of a forgiving, messianic old-Earth faith, and the Arians had left him alone believing him bigoted, therefore controllable. Yet as he stared at the soul catching orb lying helplessly on the stony Martian surface, he could not help but feel the exquisite beauty in the ways of the heretics who used it, who loved so openly through means so crude. The ring pieces called for his friendship with the souls within the pearl, to camaraderie that spanned the light-years and years of light.

He snared the untouchable marble-sized device with a suspension yoke and placed it carefully into the portable containment field generator in his backpack. He loved her as well, and he wondered about taking a slave of his own. In his heart of hearts, he ventured a thought: if God and His angels should come to lose this fight.

Buying watches sensiby, if I could start anew…

Last night I did some strap swapping among my collection of currently 16 watches. Having over a dozen affordable and cheap pieces, bought on a whim, it all just doesn’t feel right. If I could start fresh what would I have done?

I would start with 2 watches, first a Casio 800h. It makes a lot of sense with its 10 year battery, full time-calendar display, thicker case, and 100m WR. Cost, about $20. Then I would buy a 39mm Bambino circa $200 with angpow money. Saving up, I would eventually afford a GS quartz magnetic resist, circa $2.7k.

L-R: Grand Seiko, Orient Bambino, Casio 800h

While saving for my GS, I can enjoy the classic Bambino automatic and with my bare bones 800h, escape the G-Shock price:variety trap. Once you start on those, you can’t easily stop. Putting away $50ish a month, it would take me 4 years to afford the GS. If I were 25 when I began, I would be 29 with my very own tough quartz Grand Seiko! Last a lifetime and put a stopper in wasting money on further watches.

What then should I do about my current watch collection? Currently I already own an Orient (Tristar) automatic and the 800h, but am middle aged and semi retired.

I can’t save enough for that GS, nor foreseeably live another 4 years with my brain damaged and under attack daily. Not to mention it’s hard to make a living in these evil endtimes. I have accumulated 900RM, enough for emergencies. Plus $100 in my wallet. We’ll have to see about ever owning a luxury timepiece…

Made lunch for myself. Poached egg with lettuce on vegan ramen and a bacon and cheese sandwich. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, not to mention this morning’s workout and run. Did good work in mindspace, shuffling people around so the evil can’t latch and target young ones and important people. Now to code and maybe earn some money soon.

Meanwhile I’m wearing my rectangular all black Casio MQ-27 on dark blue Bonetti faux croc. Looks very nice. May buy myself a Suunto smartwatch circa 1.2kRM unless I’m raptured before June or all hell breaks loose from all those wars and threats. Thinking 5-6kRM if I get a traditional watch…

The MQ-27 is my cheapest watch, circa 50RM bought new from an AD, tho the aftermarket strap cost over 70RM.

Weekend of wondering…

We were at the MegaMall this weekend. Mom bought us curtains for our new house. Had Burger King. Mom had a taco. Dad drank a coffee at GiGi. The witchy Liew forces used kids again to attack Christians, sometimes behind a friend or relative who’s fearful / mad. Through concerted effort we fought them off and they’re now dying from multiple wounds. The mindspaces are dangerous for high-pride sinners. And I’m left wondering if we’re more on the right track to Rapture. Will our tribulation in secret end. What of the Royals? Our money? So many questions.

Will skip running today. Resume tomorrow. Am mostly satisfied with my two ARM computers. Both are clad in blue. Somehow it turned out that way. Was talking about heaven and the things that carry over into the kingdom of God. Computers are not one of them, sadly. I will miss my Linux / Unix machines. Taking some hits so will break here. More later…

A new week begins. I’m behind on my coding and story writing. Took time out to help Christians misled by the age-old good-evil fight fallout. One that’s being paraded around by the witchy Liews as their power base. What a person does with his life is to figure out how to navigate these temptations. What God does with our afterlife is to figure out how to navigate our beings. Don’t make either one hard!

I found some desktop patterns from SGI workstations for my Pi4 Linux IceWM wallpaper. Looks very Unix CDE now. Also adjusted my Fedora 39 Lxde netbook and my Windows 10 preloved laptop color scheme. Other than self-care and making meals for the folks, I was unable to work more than blocking telepathic attacks from the witchy Liews. We have to scrub these criminals out somehow but it’s not easy.

All code Friday…

I just received a rejection email from a publisher. They were very kind and polite but maybe I’m not cut out to be a published author -yet. So I’ve decided to pour more effort into my Bible app, vrs instead. I’ve designed the interface. 2 columns side to side on an iPad screen in landscape. The left being search results and the right, your notes. Tapping search verses brings up relevant notes you’ve made. Tapping a note brings up past searches. There will be a full chapter read button. And that’s about it! More later…

Coding vrs is rolling along slowly. I’m processing the JSON structure into an array, helped along by articles from tutorials sites. The mind fighting carries on. Not sure I can achieve much today.

Turns out we gave out a good judgement to both sides, east and west, to end the mind wars soon, possibly. I broke from work (and talk) to make a pasta and avocado lunch for the folks in a hurry. Still watching YouTube videos as a distraction.

Am putting in an hour of coding before I turn in for the night. A long day of mind altercations. Some people take their souls / salvation very seriously. Mostly they did a lot of wrong and are impure. Want to lay out the interface to vrs, and maybe get the JSON read in tonight. More later…

Watching SwiftUI coding videos online. Lots to do before I can release vrs. Will head out for walking exercise soon. Carry on when I come home. Wearing my Orient Tristar on faux leather. It gained 3s over 12 hours. +6s / day is pretty good for a budget auto like this. Over 100RM cheaper than Seiko 5.

Back from walking. Bought tennis racket dampeners from Decathlon. Felt really thirsty and hungry afterwards. Tomorrow may be going out to the mall as Mom is buying stuff for the new house. Coding is going slow as I learn more about the dynamic view elements in iOS 16+. May need to modify my app design a lot. Meanwhile, relatives and friends present me their personal / relational problems to solve. God is reasonable. He will save those he loves.
